Dramatic Rights Sold to Member Alyson Noel's Immortal Series

Congratulations Alyson!

 

Bill Contardi at Brandt & Hochman Literary Agents has closed a 10-book deal with Summit Entertainment of Twilight Saga fame for the dramatic rights to bestselling author Alyson Noel's YA paranormal series the Immortals and its spinoff, the Riley Bloom Books. The series has nearly five million copies in print.

Abrams Unveils Appleseed Books Imprint

In spring 2012, Abrams will launch its third imprint dedicated to children’s books: Appleseed Books. Helmed by publishing director Cecily Kaiser, the imprint will publish eight to 12 titles per season, aimed at children up to age five. “The Appleseed list will be commercially appealing with the added plus of the trademark Abrams aesthetic,” said Kaiser in a statement announcing the new imprint. “Even the youngest children deserve beautiful books. YA Rights Update March 17th, 2011

Emily Meehan at Disney-Hyperion has acquired the seventh and final installment of Melissa de la Cruz’s Blue Bloods series, along with two companion novels. Lost in Time, the sixth book in the series, is set for release this October 4, and the final volume will come out in fall 2012. Richard Abate of 3 Arts did the deal for North American rights. The series has more than three million copies in print.

Today in Children's Publishing...

Orion Children's Books will debut a new YA imprint, Indigo, that will publish four titles a month starting in September.  Fiona Kennedy will be publisher of the imprint, working with commissioning editors Amber Caravéo, also of Orion Children's Books, and Gillian Redfearn of Gollancz.
