#YAlitchat Members: Let Us Help You Promote Your Books!

#YAlitchat members with book signings coming up, we want to help you promote your books! Post your schedule of upcoming signings in the events calendar and be sure to note WHERE the event takes place with time/date and zip code. That's the first step--because if we don't know about it, we can't help you promote it!

If there's a member that lives nearby, I'm hoping that member will volunteer to help you promote your signing.

Ideally a few months in advance is the best… Continue

When I need inspiration and encouragement I read the speech J.K. Rowling gave to the 2008 graduating class of Harvard. If you haven't read it before, I highly recommend it! The link is below. :)

I Have a Dream, Too.

This is hard for me to articulate, because it's been percolating in my head for so long... I'm not sure it's going to come out right! I just know I've been training my whole life for this project, this dream. It's as if I had to have the experiences I've had in order to be worthy of getting to this point. So here goes, I'm throwing this out into the universe!

I want to run a non-profit. I want to bring music, Portland's at-risk teens and words together in ways that will have long… Continue

Member Call To Action

Several members have been written and asked how they can help me with the administration of our community and I very much appreciate the sentiment. So, I've been thinking about this and wanted to let everyone know how they could help. Because really, it's not me, it's the community. And, as we grow there will be more opportunities for active participation by members in not only the online community but the weekly chats.

The most important thing members can do to help… Continue

New Submissions Opps Page!

Just added new submissions opps page under the members tab! I will keep it updated with new submissions opportunities as they come in. I am only adding opportunities that are unique to #YAltichat members. That is, opportunities where someone contacts me and asks me to source for material from within the #YAlitchat community or for deals I put together myself--like "Query Me This" where writers are guaranteed agent representation.

Just another way being a member of #YAlitchat adds… Continue
