Hi:
I've completed an upper middle grade fiction manuscript of 72,000 words and would like to query agents seeking an adventure story where my eleven-year old protagonist Mya, through her courage and curiosity, is invited into a magical place. She not only changes her own troubled world, but transforms herself in he face of the challenges the characters present to her.
I've published short stories, articles, essays and poetry in major magazines and anthologies and published a romance/suspense novel under an assumed name.
My work has won prizes in literary journals and I've written 25 songs and lyrics that are performed in NYC cabarets.
Writing heals me and gives me the energy to support others in their healing process through Holistic Health and Nutrition and Stress Reducing techniques.
I'm glad to be a member of Yalitchat. Ellen

I just saw your note on my wall. In the future please contact me via email nicole at yalitchat dot org as I check that much more frequently.
As far as connecting w/ an agent you will have to go the traditional route via querying and such but as a Tier II member you do have an amazing set of tools avialable to you. I highly reccomend you joining these groups as I think they will be of particular interest to you:
Middle Grade Lair: http://yalitchat.ning.com/group/middlegradelair
First Pages: http://yalitchat.ning.com/group/firspagescritgroup
Query Kick Around: http://yalitchat.ning.com/group/querykickaround
Agent Insider II: http://yalitchat.ning.com/group/agentinsiderii
Agent Mail Box: http://yalitchat.ning.com/group/agentinbox
We have had members who have gone on to get signed by agents from our Agent Mailbox who have read a members work and wanted to see more of it. We make no guarantees, but it has happened to a number of our members. Each and everyone of those members used the groups to help polish their work to make it the best they could.
Please keep in mind that you are not limited to the number of groups you can join. So join the ones that interest you and be active. The more you participate the more others will as this is truly a community that wants to help each other.
I wish you only success in your writing endeavors.

P.S. I'm not particularly knowledgeable on middle grade agents looking for adventure stories but someone in the middle grade lair may be. I would definitely join and start a discussion as there are quite a few published MG authors in that group.
