Doing commissioned artwork for writers, publishers, etc.
Just curious, how many of you want to illustrate the works of other authors? Or make something for their website? What would you consider, if you were to do it, an acceptable fee for accepting a commission? Anyone know anything about that? Someday, I'd like to commission a work for my website. I'm also looking at stock photos online. I might have to learn how to photoshop along with everything else I'm studying. Being a writer is hard work, isn't it? Thanks for the help and opinion! Former Little Rock Police Officer, corrective farrier/blacksmith (horseshoer), horse trainer, dog trainer, dog breeder, Special Education Teacher certified k-12. The vampire ball? I'm SOOOO jealous. You'll have to tell me all about that one sometime. Girlfriend, let me tell you. I was truly overwhelmed by the "Breakout Novel Workbook". But like you, now that I'm done (or at least will be after this weekend) then I'm going to go through my ms AGAIN and use sections where I know I need the most help. My ms is a BIG book. And I don't mean pgs. So you're right, more than one critiquer is a must. I've been very fortunate to find such wonderful ly talented people on this site. Drop me a note when you return (kasonndra@gmail.com)and we can swap pgs. then. My goal's to be fully ready by query kick around time on 5/10. Wish me luck. :-)

- Hi Veronica. How was your conference? I noticed on your 3/11 post that you said you're reading the "Writing the Breakout Novel" workbook. I've also been using it. I just wondered did it help you a lot? I'm definitely interested in finding at least 3 crit partners. This is enough because I want to be able to return the favors just as effectively. So do you write YA paranormal or Fantasy or both? Send me a note when you return from your conference. I'd love to chat with you more.
