I am a published freelance and short story writer, as well as author of young adult, middle grade, and picture books. I'm also a regular book reviewer for Disney Hyperion, Sourcebooks, Random House Children, & other smaller presses.
Deciding to write professionally three years ago has enriched my life. I'm a member of the Society of Children's Writers and Illustrators and of course, YALitchat--I'm the MG Lair moderator. I also beta read and copy edit writers' work, supporting them in their quest for publication.
As the creator of Writers' Ally, I highlight authors and help them promote their books. I'm also the co-collaborator of Oasis for YA: an online writing site highlighting young adult books and publishing. Here, I'm blessed to share my love of storytelling with five of the most amazing writers. Moved by such amazing people, I've created WS4U!--a writers support group on Facebook; feel free to join! I'm also a contributor of Dear New Mom-a website geared to sharing help with new mothers, and CASNA-Apraxia-Kids-writing for their blog and advocating for Apraxia of Speech to raise awareness and funding.
I recently entered a national picture book contest and ranked 32nd out of over 300 writers.
In my enthusiasm to support children and young adults, I've created brochures and pamphlets for local sports’ organizations and have four, athletic yearbooks credited to me which were distributed among the players of each team.
Being a painter and life-long dancer add to my creative outlets. My most precious time is spent with my husband and four children, creating memories which I archive through writing, photos, and drawings.
My WORK can be found on my Website: Books, Freelance, & Short Stories.
