So I've reconsidered the first draft, like it better, and am running with that. Plus, I've got 99 pages into it, and a lot of time. Declan will go on the back burner, but he'll likely show up in the ball room scene toward the middle of the first novel, and be much more a part of the second and third ones. I'm thinking trilogy, but Pentellia is big, and there's a lot of room for playing.See More

So, about that writing...

Hmm, so it's been about three weeks or so since I've even considered picking up a pen to write anything at all in my novel. I'm guessing it's about time again. I know I'm on chapter three, and Lisette (MC) is talking to her parents about the illumini in her blood, but beyond that, I haven't a clue. It's really alright, though. I aim to pick up that pen and do some work, today, tomorrow, this weekend....    So about that whole Firefly thing: we Browncoats lost. At least for the moment. Joss…See More

Firefly

Okay, so I'm an obsessive person. I get stuck on something, and I'm there for awhile, but really, this obsession has lasted for a long time. FIREFLY, people. If you've never heard of it, then, not to be rude, but you don't need to read the rest of this. Really.       After Nathan Fillion commented that if he had the money, he'd buy Firefly and put it on the internet, fans got onboard and created a webpage and a facebook page. So far, there are at least 100,000 fans on the fb page, myself…See More

Reading to inspire the writing

I'm currently reading Princess of the Midnight Ball, which is fantastic. I just love it. And the best part is, besides being quite entertaining, it's helping me want to work more on my own book.See More

"  Hi, Sarah :-) It does sound like a challenging type of book to write, too, but it sounds like you're passionate, and that's a lot of the battle, I say. Without the passion, there's no motivation!"

Mine is most definitely an urban fantasy with werewolves, but I try to mix elements of fantasy as well. I've developed a taste for fantasy novels, particularly dark fantasy. Have you read the Game of the Thrones by George Martin?

I geez, I was obsessed with Star Wars when my brother introduced it to me. It was like opening a whole other side of my brain when it comes to creativity. That is the plus side to building fictional worlds, when you can find an audience to appreciate it. :)

That's great! I have an outline for my second book as well, but I'm afraid to start it because I want the first one to sale and get published. I'm in love with my characters, too! :) World building is one of the reasons I write in the first place, its so much fun! :)

Hi, Linda. Welcome to the YAlitchat party! ^_^ Thanks for the congrats on being on submission. It's exciting, and terrifying at the same time. As to how many WIPs I have going...do I have to confess to the egregious number?? Can I just say "a few"?
