I'm not sure yet. I just registered for the RWA national conference in NYC for the end of June. They have an amazing YA line up. I'm just waiting to see what the line up is for the LA SCBWI conference. It has to be great for YA for me to go. Are you going?
Hey Heather! How are you these days? Did you resubmit to that agent? The one you were working with that had given you notes and asked for revisions? I hope everything is going really well with you finding representation.
I posted an interview with a lit agent on my blog. He had some pretty interesting answers for things, just wanted to let a few friends on here know.
I don't think I'd stay another night. Just checked the flights, and they have some leaving at like 6:30-ish or 7:30-ish on Monday evening. So that'll be good.
I'm using my May 7th payday to book/pay for everything, so let me know if you find a roommate before then. Or even if you do, keep in mind I'd sleep on a couch or floor or whatever and still pay my full 1/3 share. Got a trip to Eastern Europe coming up in 2011, and "roughing it" would be good preparation for me. Plus, I'm more focused on getting to the conference and finding reasonable accommodations. Just let me know what happens on your end, though.
Also, how would you want to do this, anyway? Would I just pay you cash when we met up there??
I'm so excited! (Can you tell?) I'm already registered for the Writers League of TX event in Austin, so I think that will be good "practice" for the SCBWI conference.
Flying (from TX), but I haven't booked the flight yet.
What time is checkout on Monday? I'm guessing like 11 am or something, right?
I checked Travelocity, and I think they have a flight leaving LAX at like midnight. I'll double check to make sure, but if they do, I could probably find some activity to keep me preoccupied from checkout time Monday night.
