Have a love of Middle Grade books? Come be inspired while inspiring others!
It's great being a Young Adult writer, isn't it? But some YA writers, like yourselves, choose to explore other arenas of the KidLit world, including Middle Grade. So here, in our fabulous MG Lair, we'll explore what makes those tween years of pre/post puberty infamous and memorable all at the same time. (Ages 8 -12; grades 3 - 6.)
Some of our agents are now taking submissions for Middle Grade. YAY! So keep that in mind. Please visit our First Pages, Pimp My Scene, Query Kick Around, & Synopsis Repair Groups just as you would for any YA manuscript you might have written. Shine those manuscripts up!!

Since revising is my crutch at the moment, I thought what better way than to work through it than to start a conversation about it. So here we go:I'd especially like to hear from other pantsers--we…Continue

Comment by Kris Yankee on January 15, 2013 at 2:11pm Hi all...I've been MIA for who knows how long--life (read...work!) gets in the way of everything. I've just released a new middle grade book, Cracking the Code: Spreading Rumors, so I'm trying to get my act together with promotion for that. I have a book signing on Thursday and I'm not ready!
Kelly: Congrats! I'll have to check out your book.
Sheri & Suzanne: Chocolate can solve any problem!
Comment by Suzanne Lazear on January 15, 2013 at 1:53pm Sheri, if you ever want to exchange projects or just talk, I'm here suzannelazear @ yahoo

Suzanne: I think you and I are in the same head space.
Thanks, Patrice.
Comment by Alison Pearce Stevens on January 15, 2013 at 1:29pm Congratulations, Kelly! I've been MIA from just about everything for a while. Right now I'm busy revising an MG, since I just sent off the final edits for one of my magazine pieces and have a little break!

Comment by Kelly Hashway on January 15, 2013 at 1:23pm I've been MIA lately too because I was getting ready for today. My release day! Touch of Death is officially out there. :)
Good luck, Sheri and Suzanne!
Comment by Patrice Caldwell on January 15, 2013 at 1:11pm Sheri: plotting sequels can be quite the challenge
Suzanne: You can do it!!! & chocolate solves all...it recently helped me get through a rough day of querying woes yesterday...
Now I'm on to revising my currently querying YA manuscript, I've been thinking about it for a while and yesterday only proved it so I think it's time to change some things
Comment by Suzanne Lazear on January 15, 2013 at 12:58pm Hi everyone! I haven't been around in awhile as promoting my YA series (and writing it) takes heaps of time. Anyway, the new WIP is an MG and it's driving me to distracting and I'm really questioning myself as a writer. (It doesn't help that the last MG I gave my agent hasn't sold yet). I think I need that chocolate.

Hi Everyone! How's the writing going? Life? Health? Love? Haha... Divulge only what you want.
Me: yeah, I have way to much to write. I'll explain it all later. As far as writing, still waiting on sub plan from my agent, but attempting to plot out my sequel; no success there yet. :(
Comment by Beverly Stowe McClure on January 12, 2013 at 8:17pm Mmm, chocolate. Yummy. Congrats, C Lee, on finishing your MG. Good luck.
Comment by Beverly Stowe McClure on January 12, 2013 at 10:21am I'm happy to annouce the publication of my tween eBook A PIRATE, A BLOCKADE RUNNER, AND A CAT. Many of you may remember this story because you helped me with the query and it was sent on to the agent panel. See more here: http://bit.ly/13kSy3h and http://amzn.to/WWZTAH Thanks.
Have a nice weekend.
