Have a love of Middle Grade books? Come be inspired while inspiring others!
It's great being a Young Adult writer, isn't it? But some YA writers, like yourselves, choose to explore other arenas of the KidLit world, including Middle Grade. So here, in our fabulous MG Lair, we'll explore what makes those tween years of pre/post puberty infamous and memorable all at the same time. (Ages 8 -12; grades 3 - 6.)
Some of our agents are now taking submissions for Middle Grade. YAY! So keep that in mind. Please visit our First Pages, Pimp My Scene, Query Kick Around, & Synopsis Repair Groups just as you would for any YA manuscript you might have written. Shine those manuscripts up!!

Happy Birthday Anne Severn Williamson! I hope you have a great day! :-)

Comment by Beverly Stowe McClure on March 4, 2013 at 9:17pm Congratulations, Suzanne. Those are great magazines. Maybe it's a little of both.
Comment by Suzanne Linn Kamata on March 4, 2013 at 7:10pm I have a little bit of news myself. A rather lengthy excerpt of my novel HOME BASE, which was a submission of the month in Submissions Mailbox a year or so ago, was accepted for publication in CRICKET MAGAZINE.
I'm pretty excited about this, because I've never been published in CRICKET before. I remember reading it in my elementary school library many, many years ago. I actually submitted it to CICADA, a YA journal, but the editor passed it on to the CRICKET editors. So now I'm having a little bit of an identity crisis. Am I an MG writer or a YA writer??!! Or both?!
