Have a love of Middle Grade books? Come be inspired while inspiring others!
It's great being a Young Adult writer, isn't it? But some YA writers, like yourselves, choose to explore other arenas of the KidLit world, including Middle Grade. So here, in our fabulous MG Lair, we'll explore what makes those tween years of pre/post puberty infamous and memorable all at the same time. (Ages 8 -12; grades 3 - 6.)
Some of our agents are now taking submissions for Middle Grade. YAY! So keep that in mind. Please visit our First Pages, Pimp My Scene, Query Kick Around, & Synopsis Repair Groups just as you would for any YA manuscript you might have written. Shine those manuscripts up!!

Since revising is my crutch at the moment, I thought what better way than to work through it than to start a conversation about it. So here we go:I'd especially like to hear from other pantsers--we…Continue

Comment by Darby Karchut on April 13, 2012 at 8:36pm Finally able to come up for air - crazy spring. So, I was wondering if anyone was going to the Pikes Peak Writers Conference next week in Colorado Springs? They're having an entire day devoted to YA. Would love to meet any fellow YALITCHATers.

Wishing you all an amazing Passover season and/or Easter celebration. You are the reason I'm here and just another reason why I love to write KidLit!!
C.K. - I've been meaning to tell you that I finally started reading Ghost Dog, but ... ahem ... didn't get to finish because my 13yr-old daughter stole my Nook to read it. She just finished and is doing a book report on it. I thought you might like to hear that. ;D

Mike, glad that dance turned out well. As for sales stories, I have always wanted to sell lemonade, but parents wouldn't let me. I always hated the lame "prizes" for selling candy.
Comment by Elizabeth Prats on March 17, 2012 at 10:08am Can I say I LOVE this place? Feeling sorry that I haven't been around as much.

Happy Birthday, Anne!
Georiga, the dance was your usual high school dance. No issues with kids that needed "enforcer" skills. Was truly entertained by a group of freshman boys trying to teach each other to break dance all night.

Mike, how was the party at school?
Anne, did I miss your birthday? Sorry. Happy birthday!!!
Did you guys see the guest blog post Mike did at my blog? http://georgiamcbridebooks.wordpress.com/2012/01/26/putting-the-sci...
Did you guys see the deal for Shannon Hale's new MG series?
