Middle Grade Lair's Mission within YAlitchat!

Have a love of Middle Grade books? Come be inspired while inspiring others!

It's great being a Young Adult writer, isn't it? But some YA writers, like yourselves, choose to explore other arenas of the KidLit world, including Middle Grade. So here, in our fabulous MG Lair, we'll explore what makes those tween years of pre/post puberty infamous and memorable all at the same time. (Ages 8 -12; grades 3 - 6.)

Some of our agents are now taking submissions for Middle Grade. YAY! So keep that in mind. Please visit our First Pages, Pimp My Scene, Query Kick Around, & Synopsis Repair Groups just as you would for any YA manuscript you might have written. Shine those manuscripts up!!

Congrats Lea and CK. You guys ROCK!!

Hang in there, Suzanne. Revisions have to end sometime, right?  Once you get through the middle of your YA, the climax will be so exciting, your writing will fly along! <3

I tried to do NaNo, but unfortunately life got in the way. sigh...but I did get two of my books in print! Ghost Dog of Roanoke Island and my new book, A Horse Called Trouble are both available in print now. Yay. I am going to do NaNo in January. :-) It will be cold and snowy and I will hole up by the fireplace. mmmmmmm. How did all my friends do with NaNo? Meet your goals? If not, want to try it with me in January?

YAY, Lea!! That is wonderful news!! Keep us informed about your progress. More than willing to help if needed.

Elizabeth,

They must have a publicity department of some sort. I'm sure they hold tours. Try that angle.
