READ HERE FIRST!

If you want to upload your first five, follow these steps:
1. Start a discussion in the Discussion Forum (below)
2. Name your discussion with the title and author
3. Fill in the required fields and select your file to upload (it's helpful to list the genre and a 1-2 sentence "log line" about the work so we have a little context).
4. PLEASE UPLOAD ONLY .pdf FILES (this is for your own protection and that of the people who will review and critique your work)
5. Your work should be DOUBLE SPACED, as if you were submitting to an agent

GM: This is the PDF file creator that I use. You simply print your Word doc to the PDF program and save as a PDF. There are plenty of others, including Cute PDF which I have also used for years. I've also gotten a recommendation for this one from one of our members: http://www.doc2pdf.net/

Reviewers should leave their critiques in the appropriate discussion. Remember that #YAlitchat RULES ON PLAGIARISM apply to this group. Click here to view the rules. http://yalitchat.ning.com/page/rules-1

IMPORTANT: Your work can only remain active for THREE (3) WEEKS. At the end of three weeks, you need to delete your posting. I will close the discussion at that time so you will not be able to receive any more feedback. If you do not delete your discussion after two months have passed, I will delete it for you. There is NO WAY TO RETRIEVE comments once they are deleted. It's your responsibility to get what you need in a timely manner.

If you need anything, please contact Group Coordinator, Jessie Harrell. You can e-mail firstpages@yalitchat.org with questions, comments or concerns.

I saw this on Pixel of Ink and had to share.  One of our First Pages alumna, Susanne Dunlap, has her book on MAJOR sale on Amazon.  The e-book is now only $1.99 instead of its regular price of $13.99.  If you're interested in historical YA novels, now is the time to check out Susanne's book.

Hi Group -- Just wanted to say Sorry for not being on top of which discussions were timing out lately.  Life has gotten in my way recently, but hopefully with school starting, I'll be back on top of things again come next week.

To play catch-up, if a discussion is more than a month old, I'm going to close it.  Discussions 2-4 weeks old will be added to my next post, as those timing out at the end of the week.  If you have the feedback you need OR are making substantial edits based on the feedback you've gotten, please go ahead and close or delete your discussion.

I know we've had some new members join us in the past couple of weeks.  While hopefully I've sent all of you a friend request and welcome message, here's another WELCOME!  We look forward to having your input.

Hi Group  -- hope everyone's having a fabulous summer!

Sorry for the late check-in, but I've been a bit swamped.  This week we have the following discussions timing out:

BOOMERANG

THE WILD

FLAME OF SURRENDER

Please leave some feedback for these authors before I close their discussions. Thanks.

Hi everyone - long time, no chat.  It's been pretty quiet around here and I know many of you are enjoying vacations (or are lost in never-ending parenting with school being out).  If you have time, please leave some feedback for UNEXPLAINED DISAPPEARANCES and INFECTED.  These 2 discussions will time out this week.

I want to extend a WARM WELCOME to the new members who joined our group today and were brave enough to post right away.  Please give them a hand as well.

Finally, Ning still won't give me back full editor privileges, so I cannot delete your discussions.  PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE when you have what you need from your feedback, delete your discussion and help to keep our forum clean.  Once I've closed the discussion, you can't get any more feedback anyway, right?  Just go to the drop down menu in the top right corner of your discussion and select "delete."  It's literally that easy!

Congratulations to First Pages Alum, Beverly Stowe McClure!  Her YA Historical Novel Caves, Cannons, and Crinolines (which was published before she joined YALITCHAT), recently was an honor book award winner in the 2012 Eric Hoffer Contest. It also was a finalist in the 2011 Next Generation Indie Books Awards, novella division. Love the talent in this group!
