I have  seen at least 8 or so requests for classroom supplies but have only seen 2 for books. I think this is going to be a great part of our organization. I am so excited. Just need to ramp up membership here. And also let teachers know we offer a $5 discount on their membership! Did I mention I was excited?

Those supplies are much needed and appreciated by teachers. I can do a little promo on #ntchat if you'd like. I've been their guest and once in a while I jump in to say hi, then after last Wed. chat more teachers know of us. They might just want to become a part of YaLitChat if they see how they can use us in their classrooms, get supplies and even some financial help with the grant that's coming out in Sept.

Hi Elizabeth--please click here for info on Tier 2 membership! Librarians may join for $25/anually and are entitled to grants, classroom/media room supplies (first-come, first-serve at beginning of each school semester) and also access to list of available books we receive for MG and YA readers. Most are ARCs but some are not. We encourage student involvement as well with our writing contests (judged by members: Alyson Noel judged last year's), homework helper for students seeking support in writing, creative writing and English as well as the opportunity for students to read and critique partial manuscripts prior to publication. There's so much here, look around, ask questions. We are all here to help!

I just quit my job and started a program to become a high school chemistry and math teacher. Can I mention this to the 28 people in my class. It is a mixture of future language arts, math, social studies, science, music and geography teachers. Plus there is one future librarian. Folks expect to graduate in 2013.
