Comment by Melissa Buron on July 9, 2012 at 4:10pm Can someone point me in the direction of the Educator Grants? I can't find the link. Thank you!

I'll nominate Lisa Dabbs, @teachingwithsoul over at #ntchat She's a former teacher, but now she works very hard to support new teachers.
If not, Lisa, Leslie S. Rose is a 5th grade teacher who writes. If you choose her, I'll have to find out where she teaches.
I have more for next time!

Here's a great link to Super Teacher Worksheets. Great for grade teachers. Thanks to Kelly Hashaway who posted this on her blog this week.

Comment by Sandi B. Jones on January 10, 2012 at 7:09am Thanks, Lee. I'll have to check it out. Pat Conroy is a major influence of mine, too.

Want to read about a great educator? Gene Norris isn't famous, but one of his students is. Pat Conroy writes about how this one teacher was essential to him and hundreds of other high school students, some who never sat in his classroom. I highly recommend reading Pat Conroy's My Reading Life if only for this one chapter.

Here's an article about Young Adult Literature in the Classroom. It's longish, but even reading just the conclusion is instructive.

Know a great teacher deserving of an extra special gift this Holiday season? Nominate your teacher or colleague for a $50 Kohl's gift card! Please comment below with the name of the teacher, school and reason. If we pick that teacher, both of you will win. The winning teacher will win the $50 Kohl's card and the nominating person will win a $10 Amazon gift card. Ends December 31.

What a great article, Lee.
