Hi Crit seekers. Please start by entering your name, genre what type of partner or group you are seeking. The more detail you give, the better match you will be able to make. Think of it as online match-making. Once you see someone who may be a fit, introduce yourself. Happy crit matching. EX: Georgia McBride, YA urban fantasy/paranormanl seeking crit partner and or group of not more than 4 members including self. Prefer in person, but will consider online. Must have completed mss.

HI! I'm Jessica Tudor, I write YA fantasy, both traditional and urban. I'd like to find a crit partner who can help me through the whole process, from bouncing ideas to going over the book to help me see big-picture edits when I'm done. I've tried groups where we just exchange chapters after we've written them, and that has not worked for me because I don't need a line-editor on my first draft. Happy to work online, though in person would be amazing (I'm near Philadelphia). This person must have completed at least one MS on his/her own already. I know I'm asking a lot, which is probably why I'm still partner-less, but writing is important to me and I don't like to waste my time on what's not working.

I'm also a lot NICER than the paragraph above makes me sound. For reals.
Hi. My name is Nicole Green and I write realistic YA. I'm starting revisions on a story right now--actually as soon as I get myself off the computer. I'll probably really be ready for critiques in about two weeks.

In a critique partner: I'm looking for someone (or ones) at about the same stage--just starting revisions on a new project--or who doesn't (don't) mind looking at a second draft. Hopefully, it'll be a pretty solid second draft. I have two trunked YAs, so I think I have the basics down pretty well. I'll be working on story structure primarily during my self-editing. I'm looking for YA writers, but I don't care which sub-genre really. I read widely and beta read widely. Online is probably easiest considering my schedule and location (probably not a lot of others here who live in Williamsburg, VA!), but I'm okay with in person as well. I'm primarily looking for notes on story structure, pacing, tension, character arc, etc. But we can always discuss specifics later.
Hi everyone! My name is Patricia Perez, I write YA - mostly contemporary but I try to write everything. I'd like to find a crit partner who has constructive criticism and is supportive from beginning to end. I'd be happy to work online because I know that not many (if anyone) lives here (Puerto Rico). I'd be open to crit group of 3-4 members. Must have completed first draft of mss.
Hi Patricia,

I'd be interested in being crit partners. Let me know. I can send you a pitch for my story if you'd like so you can see if we'd be a good match. First draft and one round of revisions have been completed.

Hi, my name is Mary and I'm looking for my soul mate...oops, I mean crit partner (feels like the same thing sometimes, doesn't it?). I write all types of YA but my finished mss is YA urban fantasy. My current WIPs include a YA action/adventure and a YA contemporary romance. I read EVERYTHING (hey, I teach 8th grade English. I have to.)!

I'm looking for someone (or several someones!) to exchange completed drafts with, someone who doesn't mind if I bleed all over their mss (I've scared both my students and others who I edit for when I return their work...suggestions/crits/edits all over the place! I'm honest but not rude.), and someone who will give me honest feedback on what I need to do to improve my work--and who will tell me if/when my work sucks.

I'm in Columbia, SC and it'd be great if you were nearby but I've got no problem working online, either. I do have to say, I really am not good on the phone, though I'd be willing to give it a go, if that's what you need.

Hi Mary, I'm new to yalitchat and I think we'd be a good match maybe. I have just finished my manuscript which is also an YA urban fantasy, and I'm working on my YA series, because i needed a break from my urban fantasy to try and forget the story so i can go make back and make it better. I do live in San Diego though, but I'm also really bad at talking on the phone, but I have BLACKBERRy, so I email and text BBM, gmail chat you name it I"m available until 4 in AM. Like you seem I am passionate about my writing. And I love to read, I'm currently ready Account 116B and Business Communications as well as Melissa Marrs Ink Exchange and then after that A hopless romantic by harriet evans. But I have so much time on my hands as well as a computer at my finger tips. ANd if you want to chat more so we can ask eachother questions and see if we could be a crit match lol feel free to email me k. =)

have a nice night.

Hello everyone, I'm Priya Mae and I write YA fiction. The project I'm working on now, which is actually my first novel, is a coming of age story. I just sent it over to First Pages to see what comes up, but I've finally finished the manuscript and am looking for a crit partner to help me go over what I've written- It's pretty much spell checked, but I need an objective pair of eyes to look at it, since I've pretty much read it so many times I can't catch mistakes or inconsistencies as well as someone else could. Any amount of detail in the editing that you are capable of, I'd be grateful for, although more would definitely be preferable! I am also open to exchanging manuscripts- I am a college student who has above average writing proficiency, and while I'm not an English major (I do have good grammar, but am nowhere near being a grammar cop), I have taken various creative writing courses and am good with plot, storyline consistencies, characterization issues, and moderate grammar/spell check. I'm a full-time student so I can send your manuscript back by the chapter, every weekend, although if I get it done sooner I will send it to you ASAP.

If you haven't been scared away by my ramblings above, then I'd love to hear from you and hopefully I can find a crit partner! :-)

Hello! My name is Michelle, and I am currently working on revising my first novel (MG fantasy). I am looking for a crit partner (or two) who would be interested in trading chapters via email. I am an avid reader of all things MG and YA.
Hi EVERYONE!
My name is Elizabeth Kolodziej (KO LA G) and I write paranormal / fantasy type stories. I am actually here to find a couple of Beta Readers for a 7K Short Story I have co-written with a friend. Just a couple people. :) If we get a long I might also ask you to help be a beta reader for my WIP sequel to Vampyre Kisses. Because I still need one or two beta readers for that as well.
I am also willing to help you out with your work if you would like. :) I usually get compliments on my beta work from friends. Even before I knew what a beta was. :) But I am just looking for someone who will be honest with me but not mean. If you could help me out that would be great!

I hope this helps:

A boy seeks the legitimacy of his past, wanting to stop the lies that consume his life. But only a deal with a demon will help him unmask the truth.

How people ignore truth due to comforting lies that only hurt us in the end.

This story explores a journey into the self. Realizing all of what life has to offer by giving up your comfort zone and preparing yourself for the hard truth of a past you didn’t want to come to terms with existed. I was compelled to write this story because I was tired of accepting lies for truths just to pretend to be happy for a short time.
