Spec Fiction Crit Partners Wanted

Hi, my name is Chanteé Hale. I write dark speculative fiction (paranormal, fantasy, science fiction, urban fantasy, steampunk, etc.) for young adults and - on occasion - middle grade audiences.

I've got 3 completed manuscripts, and am looking for long term crit partners who want a parter who is, and are themselves, honest in their critiques, reasonably timely with critiques, and don't mind reading for story arc or multiple takes. I prefer online swapping (through GoogleDocs or emails) and am looking for 2-3 partners of any age group. I'm also open to beta readers.

Would you please post your website link, and state that an excerpt of your work is on your site? I think that would get more responses from experienced CPs, who are often leery of responding to requests on sites like this, but would respond favorably once they saw your work.

I agree with Veronica. What you say is write is what I'm interested in, and I'm looking for long term CPs, as well, but I'd like to read some of your work online without sending it -- or without having to send mine ... just since we don't know each other :)

I'm going to check out your page and see if your blog is on there. Hope I find some excerpts ... or at least more info about what your work is exactly :))

I'd also like to say that this group is probably best for people in the early submissions stage - which is assuming you feel you are ready for your first round of submissions or you've gotten a slew of rejections back. Rough drafts are welcome, but if you're trying to gauge the overall 'level' of writing skill, that's what I'm aiming for - people who recognize that they have room to grow and want to rise to that challenge.
