Comment by Ezmirelda Demetri on February 19, 2012 at 7:55am A repost of my article on Story Structure:

I find that keeping the story structure in mind while you're writing makes it a whole lot easier to tell what should be happening and when--whether you're the outlining type of person or not. Make sure you look at the chart that I linked to because it's litterally the best thing ever to refer to when you're stuck on your WIP. You just find where you're at and it tells you what should be happening next. :)

I want to start a weekly discussion focused on a specific topic - where you can post articles, tips, information and we can keep it together in one place (discussions are above the comment wall here!) This week we're going to chat about Voice, so please hop in and share your thoughts.

Comment by Nikki Katz on January 22, 2012 at 11:22pm Write what you know.
"Every experience we have in our lives is a potential brush stroke on the canvas of our books. Even the most mundane activities can provide a handy nuance that we can apply to our writing so that our characters are rich, three dimensional beings to whom our readers will respond."
