Hello. I go by the pen name of Dawn Embers and am new to this site and group.

I'm here to learn more about the overall genre of YA as some of my books fall within that category. I have two blogs involving writing. The first blog doesn't have a creative name, just my pen name, and is focused on the general craft with the occasional entry from my own writing. The link is: http://dawnembers.blogspot.com
My other blog is about my writing and nothing else. It has a title, "It's in the Book" and all entries are either found in my writing or about my writing. http://itsinthebookde.blogspot.com

Looking forward to seeing how this site will be of help, and learning about the overall topic of YA.
welcome, Dawn!

Hey all, Cinnamon from A Journey of Books here. A Journey of Books is my ... well, what's the best description for it? My procrastination project. It keeps me buy when I'm feeling unmotivated to either write or do homework. Lack of motivation in either of these two areas seems to happen fairly often recently.

What will you find at A Journey of Books? Reviews, interviews, guest posts, contests, and features focusing on Fantasy, Urban Fantasy, Paranormal, Romance, and Young Adult (or any combination of the above) stories. I love the escape of a good fantasy book and more than that, I love talking about how much I love the escape.

If there's anything that will make A Journey of Books unique, it will probably be the author's inability to just shut up. I tend to ramble...constantly. I think my rambling has a purpose though and I hope you find the same. Come on by sometime and visit; we always love to see new faces.

Happy Holidays!

I'm new to YALITchat. I've been reading through posts and forums, and it's been very helpful so far. I'm in dire need of some advice, as I'm considering completely re-working my entire first chapter. I've had some mixed reviews, as it sort of hits on a couple of the taboos; an MC dream that starts with weather. OOPS! Did i just say that, the "Cliche Writer Police" might be on my tail.

Well, actually I am thinking of starting it from a different perspective and I'd love some feedback. Also, please feel free to check out the Blog I posted, Balancing on a Thumbpin from Mommy Pen.

I'm looking forward to befriending some of you. No! No not you the other person behind you. If you'd like to touch base, please feel free to send a message my way. Just be careful the "Cliche Writer Police" might be monitoring my account. SSSHHH! Now go, go quickly.
Dawn
Welcome Dawn. Hope you'll be brave enough to post your first five pages over in the first five group (I know you've already joined). The folks there will tell you if you stood the cliche on its head!
Hi all,

I'm Bryan from The Time Guardian Saga. I'm a tech writer by day, YA writer by night -- especially after the kids are off to bed.

I post regularly on my blog, usually around writing interests in the Pacific Northwest, archaeological discussions (at least about the Anasazi and the Maya for now), and helping promote YA books for boys.

If you have time (hah! I know, I know), stop on by to read about the new speculative fiction YA series I'm developing. The first book, The Time Guardian of the Anasazi, is finished and is looking for a home. I recently joined some blogfests and would love to get feedback on my writing samples from serious critiquers. So come visit my blog; I'd love to get some followers and am happy to reciprocate.
Sounds interesting, Bryan. I'll check it out tomorrow. Nite.

Hi! My name is Patty from http://yayreads.blogspot.com
I'm from Puerto Rico and I enjoy reading anything I can get my hands on, whether it's sci-fi, fantasy, contemporary, etc. Yay! Reads has lots of variety.

I'm a high school student and I dream of being a published YA author.
Welcome Carson!

Hi, I'm Carson. I have a blog, Carson Allan Waldrop where I tell people about my life. I am considering starting a new blog where I talk about my journey writing my book. I would really appreciate it if you would check out my blog, and follow me on Twitter.
Hello all! I started my blog last week because I wanted to journal my experiences trying to get my first YA novel published and also talk about the next book I'm writing and ALL of the books I'm reading. I'm very new to YALITCHAT and already love it. I want to read everyone's blogs! What a great community.

A little about me: I've been querying agents and publishers for nearly a year. Lots of rejections, some with editorial notes though, so that's been helpful. I live in Oregon, but am originally from Missouri. I have two small children, ages 3 and 1. I've always enjoyed reading YA, but didn't start writing it until 2005. Before that I wrote poetry, plays, and memoir essays. My blog has the longest address ever. Here's the link so you don't go blind trying to type all the letters: http://www.staceywallacebenefiel.wordpress.com
Hey, I’m Jaime Reed. I’m a YA writer from Virginia who spins hilarious tales of the supernatural with multi-cultural characters. I’m represented by Kathleen Ortiz from Barbra Lowenstein Literary Agency. Check out my quirky blogs Write-or-Die, where I discuss writing, high school, teen angst, and random dumbness. You can also follow me on Twitter where my writing journey and scattered- brained antics play out in real-time. Don’t forget to bring your sense of humor.
Hi! I'm a middle grade and YA writer - I have a YA romance on the way to publication, another paranormal YA in the works, and a MG novel almost ready for query. I actually blog about MG books (Ink Spells), not YA, but I read YA blogs and I'm eager to see what everyone's up to here!
