Since I haven't been writing like I should, my main goal this year is to actually write on my YA fantasy every day. I'm not worrying about how much I write - the main goal is to just put pen to paper and see what happens.

I know it's the second week of February, but I'm terrible at setting goals and keeping them. So here are mine. First is to blog more this year. I'm part of a historical blog - I'm the YA voice for it - and it keeps me blogging twice a month, but I've neglected my own blog.

And my major goal is to finish my second MSS and have it ready to pitch in June at a NJ SCBWI conference. That means I have to maintain at least 1000 words a day. Since I handwrite everything first, that really equates to 2000 every day. :)

Thank you! I actually JUST published my first blog post =) You have some pretty amazing goals yourself! Let me know if there is anything I can do to help you reach them!

Hello all! I've been a member of YALitChat for awhile. After having a set back from an illness and then having to write my thesis to graduate from grad school, I am back!

Goals for 2011:

*Write 1000 words a day and to finish my first (and hopefully second) draft of my current WIP.

*Start a blog this year.

I read 132 books last year, and my goal for 2011 is 150.

*Support fellow writers with their 2011 goals and resolutions =)

I suppose I have to update my writing goals since things have changed.

*I'm signing up for Wordpress' BlogAWeek thingy -- between my three main blogs, I'll blog twice a week on each, which works perfectly b/c I always take Tuesdays off of work

*I'm going to write my nonfiction book based on the query and proposal I have -- I no longer need to acquire an agent, so I can just write the book :D

*Write the sequel to Avalon since I don't have to rewrite Avalon itself anymore, so I'm excited about that!!

*everything else with writing and editing should stay about the same... (6 posts below...)

2011 is going to be a good year. I feel it already!!! =D

Hi all.  My writing goals this year include sending out more query letters to agents for my completed ya novel, writing a new short story for contest circulation, entering my usual contests, and keeping up with the new novel I started last fall and haven't touched since early November.  So far I have written that new short story (a draft of it anyway), and I've sent out a couple queries to agents.  Not a bad start to the new year, if I do say so myself.  Hopefully, I can keep the momentum going.

Hello! I'm new to YALITCHAT, but I sure need support with my 2011 writing goals. They are: Keep blogging at least twice a month, organize at least one interview or book giveaway for my blog each month, oh...and FINALLY FINISH my YA WIP manuscript! (At least a first draft that can then live under my bed while I write something else!) Looking forward to getting to know you here at YALITCHAT!
