I've noticed a few of our members (myself included) are participating in next month's novel writing frenzy other wise known as NaNoWriMo.

I thought I'd take this opportunity to create a little spot where we can come and post our links to our author's pages that way we can "buddy" each other and more importantly be an area where we can come to garner support and rally ourselves when our fingers feel like they might fall off from all that typing!

So I raise my glass (I mean bag o' Twizzlers to you) and wish us all word vomit!

Cheers!

Yeah! I'm so glad we started this nanowrimo hang out! Everyone is kicking out words and writing :-D

It's 4am on a Sat morning and I'm still up writing. Though not at the speed I would have liked but I'm trying this out again. Also, to be fair, I mixed in writing with beta reading for someone else when I reached a road block in my mss. It's a great diversion since this person is doing a great job beta reading my mg sequel (even though he didn't read the first book). I'm going to go at it for another 2 hours then crash for 4hours. I'm up to 11448K wrds and trying to clear 13K before crash time.

So far I'm doing okay. I have a little over 8k, which fits about the 1.6k per day marker. Really, I'm happy with anything. I needed a jump start to work on something new and I'm competitive enough that this worked!

good work everyone! I love seeing the stats!

I'm hanging in and up to date with my word count. My issue is that somehow I can't get started before about 3 pm. Gotta work on that!!!
Hello! I am doing NaNo too, and always like new buddies :) Good first week. Hope everyone is having fun!

Hi Janet. I just buddied you over at Nano. Feel free to buddy me too! I got a lot done today, even though I can't seem to get started until the afternoon. Catherine

I'm so glad you guys are working towards that 50K word goal. One week is nearly done and it will become increasingly more difficult the closer we get to the end of the month I suspect.

I pulled a half-nigher last night and plan on writing through the night tonight. I'm loaded up on caffeine and sugar so I'm hoping I don't completely crash!

Have any of you been blogging about this experience? I have (every day) and would love to link up to your blog posts if you've got them.

As always I wish you all WORD VOMIT!
Yay! Word vomit :)
I am blogging *sometimes* at http://janflora.wordpress.com and there is a link on my blog for a list of NaNo Bloggers. I am trying to visit all of them this month. It's fun to see the different experiences. Like almost losing 2000 words! :P Thank you for visting , btw, Catherine!
I added everyone who put there NaNo link here. Good luck all! Off to break 12K tonight! :)
Check out the YALITCHAT NANOWRIMO contest!
How do you NaNo on the weekends???
Hard to balance the need to relax with Nano pages. My neck is bothering me-a literal pain in the neck--hehehe--I need to hire a masseur for a session or two after this is all over.
Robin I only get to write in the early morning and late nights. This week we were moving, my kids had tournamonts and I had to work overtime. So I caught up to my personal goal by doing 2 all-nighters. Next time though, I think I'll stick to one or spread them out.
I don't have time to check if anyone has posted about our contest for Nano but hopefully you guys are aware. First prize is a KINDLE! Yes. The nice one with 3G and WiFi! Woot. Second is --hmmm. I can't recall. Oh a 20-page crit from an editor/agent. We don't know who it will be at the moment, but we'll talk someone into it! :-) And third place is a gift card or mayb e even a cash prize of some amount which escapes me at the moment. The contest was organized by one of our fab Group Coordinators, LM Preston. Just another way our staff is constantly thinking of ways to enhance membership and fun! Now to go pick on editor. Hee hee. Who will it be??? MUWAHAHA! Good luck everyone. See contest details in the forum. xoxo
