Permalink Reply by Ara Trask on April 16, 2012 at 11:08am Nice place you've got here. Happy to have found you all. My name is Ara.
Though I tend to hopscotch in and out of different genres, my work is primarily Young Adult. I'm in the middle of giving my novel-in-progress a 6-week rewrite break; it's a historical centering around high school, hijinks, and music. This will be its third rewrite, so the finish line is in sight!
I'm excited about connecting with other YA writers and diving into the great community here. It will be nice to get feedback from other YA writers who understand the category. (I wouldn't call it a genre, would you?)
Let's do this!

Great to meet you, Ara! You'll find this community very helpful and encouraging. I write all the encompasses KidLit. I'm sure we'll meet up at some point. Welcome!

Permalink Reply by Courtney Ryanne Morgan on April 25, 2012 at 9:53am Hey guys! My name is Courtney and I'm so glad I've found this site - it seems like you have a fantastic community here and I'm excited to be a part of it. I write primarily YA in a lot of different genres, though right now it's been mostly fantasy/sci fi. I have a lot of characters that I developed when I was a kid that I'm just now, at the very end of my college experience, able to give the stories they deserve. I'm looking forward to sharing the novel I'm currently cleaning up along with all the other stories (long and short) that I'm working on with the community.
So happy to be here, guys!

Courtney, welcome!! Your energy is fabulous. Love it. And yes, this place is awesome. So glad you found us.

Permalink Reply by Lauren "Scribe" Harris on May 8, 2012 at 11:02am I probably should have joined a long time ago, but I sort of didn't realize this was a "thing" outside of Twitter...
Anyway, I'm L. Scribe Harris, hostess of Pendragon Variety Podcast, a podcast for aspiring writers of genre fiction, and Fit-2-Write Podcast (with Tee Morris and Justin Macumber). Also, I'm currently a soldier in the submission no-man's-land. I've got two finished novels, one that's gone on resubmission with an agent, the other I'm revising. A third is in its outline form in Scrivener.
I write fantasy that tends to straddle the line between YA and Adult. You know, that hard-to-market spot in the market where characters are college students and twenty-somethings not yet settled in their skin?
I'm really looking forward to meeting you all! DM me on twitter @Marksmaster and I'll follow back. :) I blog about writing at Ink-Stained Scribe.

It's great to meet you, Lauren. You sure sound busy! We love that type of energy here. I'll head over and check out your site and on Twitter. Feel free to check out my site, too. (http://writersally.blogspot.com) In the meantime, explore this site. It's a wonderful place to explore and grow!

Permalink Reply by Lauren "Scribe" Harris on May 8, 2012 at 12:48pm Thanks! Checking yours out too. :) The first hurdle here is figuring out how the site works, and where everything is. :)
