Howdy!

It's great to be in the company of others who feel the same way I do about YA. I write YA contemporary romance, and am currently working on my fourth novel.

Ryann

Hello everyone!

New here and fairly new to the writing YA world. The majority of my past writing has been in poetry but I've been an avid fan of YA lit for many years. I'm currently working on my first novel.

I'm unpublished as my novel is no finished but publication is a dream of mine, which I'm sure most of you share.

Hey All!

I'm new here and just wanted to drop in and say hello. I never pictured myself ever writing anything YA related, but late one night when I couldn't sleep I got an idea that would not go away until I started writing. I'm currently working on the first draft and I'm having a great time!

I can't wait to meet all of you! Feel free to send me a friend request or an IM--I love to talk about reading and writing!

Carissa

Hi Carissa,

As a writer I understand how you can have to write.:) I started my first novel and since I had just gone through my daughters' teenage years I decided to write about that. The truth is I never know what the genre of my story will be until I have started it. Writing YA is so much fun, because I could tap into those feelings I never told anyone about when I was younger. Now my characters can speak them and a lot of people are drawn back into the high school world when they read them. YA is all about the angst and the joy of being a teenager. It's like no other period in your life. My book, If I Could Be Like Jennifer Taylor is coming out in September. When I first started writing it I had no idea it would be published. For me it was just a story. Only when I finished it and realized it could be published did I try. I love the beginning when the words flow out of your fingers.

Sheri, congratulations on your debut publication. Mine is coming out in an e-book and I'm having two book signings in September. Ryann it is so great you have four books published!!!

I am putting my cover on here. I've just gotten it this week.

Hello Everyone,

Name here is Julie and I live in Florida. I'm a full-time working mom of three kids. Writing YA fiction is my hobby. I've been doing this on and off since I was 16 years old; and no, I'm not telling my age...lol... Currently, I'm working on two books. One is a Paranormal/Suspense/Romance and the other is a Mystery/Thriller.

I hope this wonderful group will help me to learn how to these two books published, if not for the fun of it.

~ Julie

Hi Julie. Welcome to YALitChat. Hope you see your dream come true and both of your books are published.
Hi Julie. Where in Florida do you live? I'm outside Lake City in the North Central part of the state.

Oh, cool! I live about 2 hours south of you, near Orlando.  I've never been to Lake City but I bet it's pretty.

~ Julie

Thank you so much, Lee.
