I’ve been writing since the second grade, and wrote my first full-length novel my freshman year of college.  Hello, Cait :-) I think we're all pretty friendly around here. I'm working on a YA fantasy novel myself; I was a hundred or so pages into it when a new character popped into my head and I decided to add him in, and now I'm back to page 17 or so :-)

I just joined YALitChat today. I just finished writing my first YA book and am trying to figure out querying. I am also a new mom and considering a career change from Science to education.

 

I'm hoping to meet a few people and learn as much as I can from this site. I'm open to suggestions on the best way to meet people.

It really isn't hard to meet new people on here. :) I would suggest joining groups like Query Critique if you're a Tier 2 member, and First Five Pages. There are alot of nice people in those groups, and you can always post something in the forums or start up a chat or discussion. Welcome to YALITCHAT, and congratulations on finishing your first book! :)
