Good evening, my name is Jennifer. Through YALITCHAT, I’ve been able to get acquainted with many talented writers. I’d like to introduce myself:
I’ve been writing since the second grade, and wrote my first full-length novel my freshman year of college. I wrote the sequel, Battleground, my junior through senior year of college, and am currently preparing the manuscript and all its documents for literary representation. I keep updates on my blog http://jennifermhartsock.wordpress.com about my progress as a pre-published writer. I tend to write inspirational, spiritual journey+science journey, make-the-world-a-better place, normal teen issues. If you're interested, please keep in touch.
Thanks!
Jennifer

Welcome, Bettina,
You'll do great, but if you have a question or a hundred questions, please ask any of us. We like to feel useful. :-)

Permalink Reply by Linda M. Ransom on February 24, 2011 at 12:37pm Hello, Cait :-) I think we're all pretty friendly around here. I'm working on a YA fantasy novel myself; I was a hundred or so pages into it when a new character popped into my head and I decided to add him in, and now I'm back to page 17 or so :-)
Glad to have you here!

I just added an Essays section on my site. If you're interested in having a taste of what I like to write, please visit my Essays section at http://jennifermhartsock.wordpress.com/essays.
I look forward to your feedback, and possibly a great conversation.
Take care,
Jennifer
Thanks Linda! It does seem pretty friendly in here. Thanks for the welcome!
It's always interesting when new characters jump in and surprise you, isn't it? Mine's finished, just trying to tighten it up before I dive back into querying.

Permalink Reply by Andrea Leech on March 13, 2011 at 11:38pm Hello everyone,
I just joined YALitChat today. I just finished writing my first YA book and am trying to figure out querying. I am also a new mom and considering a career change from Science to education.
I'm hoping to meet a few people and learn as much as I can from this site. I'm open to suggestions on the best way to meet people.
Thanks
Andrea

Hi Andrea,
Welcome to yaltichat. You'll find exactly what you need here.

It really isn't hard to meet new people on here. :) I would suggest joining groups like Query Critique if you're a Tier 2 member, and First Five Pages. There are alot of nice people in those groups, and you can always post something in the forums or start up a chat or discussion. Welcome to YALITCHAT, and congratulations on finishing your first book! :)
