Thanks for all the warm welcomes :-) I've been busy working on my book, like most of us have been :-) This is, hopefully, my year to get it finished!
Hi everyone,
Just new to YAlitchat!
Very excited. I hope that i can get to know you all the next few weeks. I have just started writing again with the intention of getting published and writing full time (well we all start with that goal don't we) Aim high i say!
I am writing a book about a teenager who gets leukemia. Unlike a couple of books i have read over the past few weeks Sam's journey is more about her finding and and dealing with death. Rather than recent books that deal with the final days/weeks after the cancer has gone terminal.
I hope i can live up to the power that needs to be in there. :-) *go little me, go*
anyway i have been so impressed with the caring and helpful writing community that is out and about on blogs and twitter. You guys ROCK! i can't believe the support you all give each other.
Well if anyone would like a beta reader just let me know, i'm not up to speed to be able to critique as such but i can help if you need opinions on your work. I am an ex English teacher despite my HORRID spelling without spellcheck! *grin*
Have a fantastic day everyone and i hope i posted this in the right spot

Glad you joined us here, Sarah. As AE said, ask for help if you need it. We love to see new members join in and share in the opportunities here ASAP.

Sarah,
Your story sounds like something that must be both, diffucult to write and very rewarding too. I'd love to beta read your manuscript should you need someone else.

I'm Cait, I've been lurking around here for a while now and finally got the time to stop in and say hello. I write primarily YA Fantasy, but have an Adult Urban Fantasy and an Historical SomethingorOther collecting dust on my hard drive. Somedays I even remember to update my blog!
In real life do marketing and photography for Park City Rec.
I also hate talking about myself, which is perhaps the REAL reason it's taken me so long to make my introductions... maybe.
At any rate, I'm very excited to be part of the community, and I hope to get to meet more of you.

Permalink Reply by Jennifer M. Hartsock on February 23, 2011 at 2:09am Good evening, my name is Jennifer. Through YALITCHAT, I’ve been able to get acquainted with many talented writers. I’d like to introduce myself:
I’ve been writing since the second grade, and wrote my first full-length novel my freshman year of college. I wrote the sequel, Battleground, my junior through senior year of college, and am currently preparing the manuscript and all its documents for literary representation. I keep updates on my blog http://jennifermhartsock.wordpress.com about my progress as a pre-published writer. I tend to write inspirational, spiritual journey+science journey, make-the-world-a-better place, normal teen issues. If you're interested, please keep in touch.
Thanks!
Jennifer

Permalink Reply by Jamie Weil on February 23, 2011 at 2:04pm Hi Georgia,
I feel like a teenager at the mall!
I stumbled upon YA LITCHAT several years ago (maybe while watching "Castle" so I wasn't focusing or something), but my, what work you've done! The service you provide here gives YA writers a gathering place to explore what they love: the YA world. Thanks so much for your hard work and creative concepting!
