Hi All!

I found this site because I follow Georgia on Twitter. This is a new venture for me in many ways, a group like this, I mean. I've been published, but it's mostly "niche" and I'm trying to grow a bit more, see what else is out there in the world :-)

It's ironic (and I guess in a good way) that it turns out that although "grown ups" read my work, technically, it's YA, so, thanks to Georgia, I've now got a great place to learn a lot more about that specifically!

I'm looking forward to learning, chatting, submitting, and just generally chilling with everyone here :-D

Cheers!
JD
Hey JD. Glad you made it over to ning!
Hey Everyone!
Okay so I've been on here for about two weeks now, and I absoultely Love this site! Thanks (Willow and Ebyss) I've been to a lot of writing groups some are friendly some hate YA it seems and some well they are plain rude so I was glad this site is for my specific genre of writing. =)
I have currently wrote three MS none have been published and I know why because my style of writing was not as exciting as it is now. I will re-write them when I have more time, right now I'm finishing up my other MS that is called Dark hours. It was just a fun "What if- Project" that turned into 200 pages of Oh this a story... oh it needs finished. =) It was actually the first story my husband read the first ten pages I gave him and he asked, "So... Is this it? Do you have more?" He hated I left him hanging on a cliff hanger for two weeks. "Oops... LOL"
Dark hours is about Summer a half witch half vampire trying to escape from her coven vow, (Which means she has to marry someone before she turns 18) but what she doesn't know is this has to be done becuase of the acient prophecy written about her. She is the one who can save the world from darkness but only if she marries the one she truly loves which happens to be a boy Drew a vampire that is forbidden because of her warrior vow. And Landon a werewolf who has a secret of his own. =)
I do love writing though. It is wonderful when you can make worlds how you want to and charcters end up with who they probably wouldn't in reality. =)
Hey Roza! You're an old hat by now! Welcome anyway.
Hello All,

I am so happy to have found this new home away from home. Thanks for the invite, Geogia.

*waves at thread* been lurking on the #YAlitchat for some time...finally wandered my way in here! Hi, everyone! :D
:) Elissa
Glad to convert you from a lurker to a member! YEAH! Welcome-officially. :-)
Love that name! Sounds like an amazing read. Oh and congrats on selling it! Cannot wait to read what you have in store for the YA market! Welcome.
Hi everyone!

I'm still getting used to Ning. I've been writing YA paranormal for about 15 years but got serious about it a year ago. A lot of my stories lean way to the dark side. I have one book in the hands of agents and awaiting response while I'm working on another project. I'm glad to have found this group.
Hello my friend! So glad you joined us here. We have an orientation file in the forum for newbies. Take a look and see if it helps. I also send out newsletters monthly that should help. Also check out the NOTES section at the bottom of the home page and also there should be a link at the top of the page to NOTES, FAQs, RULES and more to help orient you to the site. Of course, there is a list of Group Coordinators and folks that are willing to help listed under Groups as well. Email me otherwise with any questions you have. Regular members are also willing to answer whatever questions as I think everyone is pretty much new to ning (myself included).

Whew! That was a mouthful!

What I meant to say was, welcome. Glat to have you here.

:-)
Wow, I'm so glad I found the link to this forum on a blog.

I'm Elana Johnson. I write young adult stuff, mostly dystopian at the moment. I just signed with Michelle Andelman in November, and hopefully (maybe) we'll be on submission soon.

I am severely addicted to blogging, and write for the QueryTracker blog as well as my own personal publishing thoughts.

I'm excited to be part of this fantastic YA community.
