*Raises Hand*

Hi everyone!
I'm 17, and so glad to have found this group! Although I can't remember exactly how it found it, Twitter maybe?

I'm working on my first YA novel, "Darkest Nights", where my FMC, Cora, has nightmares that come true.
She discovers that there's more to the world than she thought she knew, and gets in the middle of a great battle between White and Black Magic.
And of course, she falls for the wrong guy ;) I have a thing for bad boy-sweet girl romances! <3
I know it may sound like any other book, but I'm working really hard on it, and I'd love to maybe publish it one day.

I've uploaded the 1st (very rough, still in need of heavy editing) 5 pages of my WIP here.

Can't wait to chat with you all!
Feel free to add me as your friend!

Also, there's a group for teens (ages 14-18) that I find interesting.
YA(litchat) Review Board
It's for authors to give their books to teens for us to review them!

Hi Ella-

No worries about Wednesday. This week we are doing New Year's resolutions relating to writing! HOWEVER, the schedule for upcoming chats is AMAZING. I am SOOOOO excited. January alone is going to rock-HARD!

Have you seen the schedule?

As for the YA(litchat) Review Board, I've upped the age to 20. So, please post about it. Would be super cool to get it going. I want to tweet about it so authors will know to start sending books.

Cheers-

I'm definitely looking forward to YALITChat this Wednesday! Something always comes up the night of, but I've made sure that I'm free this night, so yay! Lol. I'll definitely spread the word about the review board via twitter :)
I haven't seen the schedule yet. Where is it?

About the Review Group, I'd be happy to help in any way, if you need me to. I know a bunch of teen bloggers on the bloggosphere and I'm sure I could get them to come here. I've already posted about this site on my blog, and I'm advertising it via Twitter and FB too.

I don't know what I'll be doing on Wed but if I'll try to be online, even if it's only for a little while.

I'm amazed by how teens are taking over the lit world too. Did you know there are authors who are 15-18?
OMG. It is absolutely amazing. I would love to have them all LIVE here. ALL OF THEM (I'm greedy). Teen writers, bloggers, readers. COME HOME TO #YALITCHAT.

But I digress. So January's schedule can be linked to from the home page. Info on the new 2 month promo with Sourcebooks Fire is the first blog post listed. Just click on it (too tired to find direct link).

Please let me know if you need anything else. It is also on my blog. http://georgiamcbridebooks.wordpress.com/

Cheers-

I can't find the reference now I want it, but I know I didn't dream it. One of the big pubs in Australia, ?Random House, is releasing a novel by a 15 year old next year. Harper Collins (Australia) published one by Alexandra Adornetto in 2007 when she was 15, too, and another of hers a year later. To all teens: if your story's good, it will get published, and editors with vision will be pleased to help you if necessary. I have a relative who is 13 who is well on his way with a parallel worlds fantasy.

Best wishes and Happy New Year to all,

Peter
I must jump in and say that Steph Bowe (@stephbowe) is the 15 year old getting her novel published in Australia! :D She is awesomeawesomeawesome.
She is! She's aslo a great blogger :)
Hey Ella!
I'm a teen too! I am currently in between what I'm writing.
One thing I am writing is paranormal and the other is realistic fiction.
I am also a book blogger!

Best Wishes,
Zoe
I know who you are, I'm a follower of your blog ;)
Can't wait to chat with you, and read some of your work!

Hello there!

I'm turning nineteen in February! I'm about to finish my third round of edits on my fifth novel. I might do a fourth round before seeking representation. (Third's the charm but fourth's the spell-lock!) This is the second novel I'm going to try to get published. The first one I seeked representation for (the fourth novel I ever wrote) wasn't ready. Don't want to make that mistake again.

I wrote for a newsletter in Indiana aimed at teens of battered women. (Only three articles, to be fair.) Currently, I write articles for RadicalParenting.com, which is a parenting site from the teens perspective. My boss, Vanessa Van Petten, is also a teen writer. She wrote her first parenting book when she was in high school. This summer, I became RadicalParenting's book intern, which means I request books from authors and/or publishers (mostly the publishers) and write reviews.

It's nice to see other teens that enjoy writing. When I was in high school, everyone would just stare at me and my nose buried inside my notebook and go: "why the hell is she writing when she doesn't have to?"

*nerd*
Wow, you're a busy lady!
Good luck with that editing! Perhaps it was a good thing that you went through that experience with the 1st novel you wanted to publish. You've certainly learned something from it, right?

I still get looked at funny when someone asks me what am I doing and I tell them I'm writing. Not in a bad way, though. It just surprises them.

Glad to have you here, make sure you join the YA Lit Chat Review Board Group.

Ella
So, Ella and everyone, if you want members here to check out your reviews, please post links to book titles in the YA(litchat) Review Board Group. I'll pick them up from there and post them to the Book Reviews Section located on the home page. I can't figure out a better way to do it right now. Another group seems useless as ppl have to join to see it. Anything on the home page is content that has to be added by me as I am the admin. Grrr. Sometimes Ning can be so useless. OK, let me know if that works for you. Thanks!
