So here's the deal. I wrote a novel "The Pirate's Daughter And A King's Ransom"It's an adventure/coming of age/pirate tale. My delima is this; how to classify my story to attract the most attention? Do I list it as Historical Fiction? Do people actually seek out that? Or should I list it as fantasy? ( I have done both.) And though it's main character is a 14 yr old girl, should it be catagorized as YA. I did write it primarily for this audience but am I limiting my exposure? I know many of my adult readers, (which isn't that many..lol), have been moved by the story. And to tell you the truth, I don't know that I have had any younger readers actually pick it up. So how do I make that determination?
